a cut of morrison(george)

3 weeks to complete wood polyurathane truck spring wood/super glue metal lathe strips painted string painting wire brass wire and copper wire the main plane is arranged in pieces such as a george morrison montage(such is on the 4th floor of the mnpls. art institute) the action is the other pieces getting out of the way of the blade circular saw blade cutting into the main plane lathe strips and subsequent circulating wire is chaotic and yet under control of an unseen force - random abandon becomes organized chaos all set on a "truck spring" when origionally placed on this the sculpture leaned at 45 degree angle I added a 1" dowel inside so at first sight it looks as if the truck spring is carrying the whole sculpture
